Selected Similar Verses in Isaiah and Luke

This article provides selected verses from the book of Isaiah and the gospel of Luke. Specifically, it contains verses from the book of Isaiah that are used in the gospel of Luke as well verses in Luke that appear to be the same as or strikingly similar to the verses in the book of Isaiah.

*Isaiah 6:9-10 vis-à-vis Luke 8:10

Isaiah 6:9-10 / TEV 1992

“So he told me to go [God to Isaiah] and give the people this message: ’No matter how much you listen, you will not understand. No matter how much you look, you will not know what is happening.’ Then he said to me, ’Make the minds of these people dull, their ears deaf, and their eyes blind, so that they cannot see or hear or understand. If they did, they might turn to me and be healed.’”
