Faith Expressions

This web post deals with the chosen servant of God, who is Jesus Christ --- the suffering servant triumphant. The title of the post is based on two sets of Bible verses taken from the book of Isaiah. These are Isaiah 42:1-4 and Isaiah 52:13-15. Immediately below are the passages, which were quoted from King James Bible online.

Isaiah 42:1-4 - “Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles. He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard in the street. A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth judgment unto truth. He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgment in the earth: and the isles shall wait for his law.” (KJV)

Isaiah 52:13-15 - “Behold, my servant shall deal prudently, he shall be exalted and extolled, and be very high. As many were astonied at thee; his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men: So shall he sprinkle many nations; the kings shall shut their mouths at him: for that which had not been told them shall they see; and that which they had not heard shall they consider.” (KJV)

The faith expression artworks found in this article are based, mainly, on Isaiah 52:13-15, and there are several artworks that are based solely on these verses in the book of Isaiah. As mentioned at the beginning of this article, the title of the post is based on the combination of the Bible verses Isaiah 42:1-4 and Isaiah 52:13-15. Similarly, several faith expression artworks are based on combinations of Bible verses, and these verses are placed together or near each other to show that the artworks are the result of these combinations.
