GOD is HOLY

Book of Leviticus

“Be holy because I, the Lord your God, am holy.”

(Leviticus 19:2 / NIV® 2011) --- Bible verse about holiness as an essential part in imitating God

Book of Isaiah

“In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord, high and exalted, seated on a throne; and the train of his robe filled the temple. Above him were seraphim, each with six wings: With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they were flying. And they were calling to one another: ’Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory.’”

(Isaiah 6:1-3 / NIV® 2011) --- Bible verses about holiness as a real, existential characteristic of God as testified by angels who possess pure and crystal-clear minds

GOD is PRIEST

Book of Numbers

“The Lord said to Moses, ’Tell Aaron and his sons, {This is how you are to bless the Israelites. Say to them: The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.}’ So they will put my name on the Israelites, I will bless them.”

(Numbers 6:22-27 / NIV® 2011) --- Bible verses about a priestly blessing

Book of Psalms

“The Lord has sworn and will not change his mind: You are a priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.”

(Psalm 110:4 / NIV® 2011) --- Bible verse about God’s designation of Christ as the eternal priest in the order of Melchizedek

Letter to the Hebrews

“Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has tempted in every way, just as we are – yet he did not sin. Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”

(Hebrews 4:14-16 / NIV® 2011) --- Bible verses about Jesus the great high priest, the Son of God who became human and who intercedes for us as we approach God for mercy, grace and unwavering faith

“Every high priest is selected from among the people and is appointed to represent the people in matters related to God…And no one takes this honor on himself, but receives it when called by God, just as Aaron was. In the same way, Christ did not take on himself the glory of becoming a high priest. But God said to him, ’You are my Son; today I have become your Father.’ And he says in another place, ’You are a priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.’ During the days of Jesus’ life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions with fervent cries and tears to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission. Son though he was, he learned obedience from what he suffered and, once made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him and was designated by God to be high priest in the order of Melchizedek.”

(Hebrews 5:1 and 4-10 / NIV® 2011) --- Bible verses about Jesus, the obedient Son of God and eternal priest who is the perfect source of salvation

GOD is GOD

Book of Exodus

“God said to Moses, ’I AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: I AM has sent me to you.’ God also said to Moses, ’Say to the Israelites, The Lord, the God of your fathers – the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob – has sent me to you. This is my name forever, the name you shall call me from generation to generation.’”

(Exodus 3:14-15 / NIV® 2011) --- Bible verses about God as I AM, which is God’s name forever and which is an unmistakable, categorical statement by God that He is God, Yahweh

Book of Isaiah

“You have been chosen to know me, believe in me, and understand that I alone am God. There is no other God – there never has been, and there never will be. I, yes, I am the Lord, and there is no other Saviour.”

(Isaiah 43:10-11 / NLT 2016) --- Bible verses about an emphatic and categorical declaration by God as the one and only God who is Lord and Saviour

“Listen to me, Jacob, Israel, whom I called; I am he; I am the first and I am the last.”

(Isaiah 48:12 / NIV® 2011) --- Bible verse about God’s clear and forceful description of himself as God to the house of Israel

Book of Revelation

“’I am the Alpha and the Omega’ says the Lord God, ’who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.’”

(Revelation 1:8 / NIV® 2011) --- Bible verse about a categorical statement by God that He is the one and only God

“I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.”

(Revelation 22:13 / NIV® 2011) --- Bible verse about a categorical statement by Jesus that He is God, the one and only God
