Gospel Lists Part II
Gospel Lists Part II

This is Part II of the short version of the Gospel Lists which deals with “some beings, some places and some things gospel.” Part II of Gospel Lists contains two lists: list of famous miracles of Christ and list of famous line by a gospel character.

LIST: FAMOUS MIRACLES of CHRIST

This list contains the most wonderful miracles that Jesus performed during his ministry of preaching, healing and reconciliation.

  • Jesus turned water into wine during a wedding celebration in Cana. (John 2:1-12)
  • Jesus fed 5,000 people using 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish in Bethsaida. (Luke 9:10-17)
  • Jesus healed a blind man named Bartimaeus. (Mark 10:46-52)
  • Jesus raised dead Lazarus to life. (John 11:38-45)
  • Jesus calmed a storm on Lake Galilee. (Mark 4:35-41)
  • Jesus walked on the water of Lake Galilee. (Mark 6:45-51)
  • Jesus rose from the dead three days after he was buried. (John 20:1-18)
  • Jesus ascended into heaven. (Luke 24:50-53)

LIST: FAMOUS LINE by a GOSPEL CHARACTER

This list contains some famous lines said by gospel characters. There are many famous lines or verses found in the gospels, but the gospel verses given below are truly essential to the understanding of God.

  • “…This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.” (Matthew 17:5) - The line was said by God himself about Jesus during the transfiguration.
  • “I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.” (John 10:11) - This line was said by Jesus who told the people of his time that he was the good shepherd willing to die for them.
  • “…I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live” (John 11:25) - This line was uttered by Jesus when he was about to resurrect a dead friend name Lazarus, which Jesus did. It was his personal testimony that he was the author of life and, therefore, he was (and is) God.
  • “…Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word.” (Luke 1:38) - The line was said by Mary in response to the angel’s announcement that she will conceive a child through the power of the Holy Spirit.
  • “…Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.” (Matthew 16:16) - The line was uttered by Simon, and because of this divine revelation given to Simon, Jesus gave him the name Peter which meant “rock” – the rock upon which Christ built his church.
  • “…Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.” (John 1:29) - The line was said by John the Baptist – the voice in the wilderness as described in the book of Isaiah – about who Jesus was and his role in saving humankind from sin and destruction.
  • “…My Lord and My God.” (John 20:28) - This line was uttered by Thomas, one of the twelve apostles of Jesus. Thomas did not believe that Jesus rose from the dead until he saw Jesus. It was during this encounter that he made this poignantly painful yet divinely inspired confession about Jesus: that Jesus was (and is) the perfectly exact image of the invisible of God, that he was before all things came into existence, that he has preeminence over all created things and that he was (and is) Lord to whom every knee must bend.
